Fred Pockrass, DDS

Dr. Fred Pockrass has been a restorative and general dentist since 1981. He graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and began his practice in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, revitalizing the practice of a retiring dentist. After eight years, Dr. Pockrass fulfilled a life-long dream of studying with a meditation master in India and moved to the Himalayas. While there, he created a Western-style dental clinic and until late 2000, served as personal dentist to a noted international community. He is a graduate of the acclaimed PAC-Live program in Aesthetic Dentistry at University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA.
In addition to his dental degree, Dr. Pockrass holds a PhD. in meditation, is a certified Tai Chi instructor, and has taught these arts for 20 years. He has been a featured speaker at international conferences on developments in dentistry and meditation. His passion is transforming his clients’ experience of the dentist and making each person an expert in their own oral well-being.
Dr. Pockrass is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Biological Dentistry and serves on the Editorial Board of Access Magazine and the Advisory Board of the Academy of Intuitive Medicine ( http://intuitionmedicine.org ). He is Canadian and American Board certified and licensed in Quebec and Ontario since 1981 and in California since 2001. Dr. Pockrass co-founded Transcendentist, Inc., the leading eco-friendly dental products and services company.
Donald J. Coluzzi, DDS
Donald J. Coluzzi, DDS is a 1970 graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He recently retired after 35 years from his general dental practice in Redwood City, CA, but continues as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences. He is past president of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and holds Advanced Proficiency certificates on Nd:YAG and Er:YAG wavelengths. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, as well as holding Mastership from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He has received the Leon Goldman Award for Clinical Excellence and the Distinguished Service Award from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He is the Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Coluzzi co-edited and authored the October 2004 issue of Dental Clinics of North America, and recently co-authored the Atlas of Laser Applications in Dentistry, published by Quintessence. He has published peer reviewed manuscripts about lasers in dentistry, and has trained practitioners throughout the world. Disclosure: Dr. Coluzzi currently has no financial interest in any laser manufacturer. In the past, he has received honoraria from Hoya ConBio for education and training courses.
Ali Farahani, DDS

Dr. Ali Farahani graduated as a general practitioner from Dalhousie University in Halifax, in 2000 and for the past 8 years, has done locums in a number of different practices across the country, from high-end cosmetic and spa dentistry in Montreal, Quebec, to rural hospital dentistry in northern Alberta, Ontario. He is an accredited member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (I.A.O.M.T.) an organization for dental, medical and research professionals who practice mercury-free dentistry, and scientific biocompatibility. Dr. Farahani and his team have trained and continue to train in advanced cosmetic dentistry at the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Farahani has published numerous articles on a 'green' approach to dentistry as well as a natural approach to dental health in general. His private practice which is integrative as well as environmentally-friendly is located in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
Steven Koos, DDS, M.D.
Dr.Steven Koos specializes in oral, maxillofacial and implant surgery. Dr. Koos is one of a select few dual-degreed oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the nation who has obtained both dental and medical degrees. He graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1996 and also obtained a Medical Degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2000. Dr. Koos furthered his training and education through a five year intensive residency program focused in General Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Mt Sinai Hospital, and MetroHealth Hospital of Cleveland.
Dr. Koos has proudly created the nation's first fully “green” oral surgery facility- ORA Oral Surgery & Implant Studio in Chicago, IL. His integrative, holistic treatment philosophy began with the comprehensive design of a sustainable facility that strictly followed LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) guidelines, and continues with his practice of green health care through GGHC (Green Guide For Health Care) and EDA (Eco-Dentistry AssociationTM) protocols and recommendations. Dr. Koos has partnered and collaborated with many authoritative organizations such as the WHO (World Health Organization), HCWH (Health Care Without Harm), and the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Dr. Koos is also a graduate of the "Leadership in Green Health Care" curriculum and is striving to bring the concept of practicing ecologically sustainable medicine to private practitioners throughout the United States.
Dr. Koos is a member/fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Computer Aided Implantology Academy, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Dental Association, the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxiilofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Jason E. McMillan, DMD

A graduate in 2000 from the Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Dentistry, Dr. McMillan practices general dentistry, lectures on the benefits and feasibility of sustainable design and operations and has consulted with Henry Schein Dental, the U.S. dental division of Henry Schein, Inc., which is the largest provider of healthcare products and services to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets.
A passionate steward of the environment, Dr. Jason E. McMillan pioneered a new standard for environmentally responsible dentistry with the first LEED-certified dental practice in the United States, Mint Dental Works in Portland, Oregon. LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is the nationally recognized benchmark for green building and operations governed by the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2008, Mint Dental works received the highest level of certification, LEED Platinum, for its efforts.
Dr. McMillan has also been distinguished with a BEST Award from the City of Portland; an Excellence Award for a Green Remodeling Project from the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland; and a Green Building Award through the Oregon Remodelers Association. Dr. McMillan’s progressive practice has been featured in a wide variety of international, national and local publications including French Glamour Magazine, Dental Economics and the Oregonian.
Christine Hovliaras Delozier, RDH, BS, MBA

Ms. Hovliaras Delozier is President of Professional Savvy, LLC, an oral care consulting company located in Flanders, NJ, providing professional marketing services to companies, advertising agencies, and dental practices, speaking presentations at professional meetings, and career planning and business development opportunities for dental professionals.
She has been a dental hygienist for 24 years and worked in a periodontal practice for 16 years. She has worked as a clinical faculty member and research dental hygienist, and in clinical research, professional sales, professional sales training, professional relations and professional marketing for a major oral care consumer products company.
Ms. Hovliaras Delozier is Editor-in-Chief of Access, the national magazine of the American Dental Hygienists' Association. She was the recipient of the United Who's Who of Business and Professional Executives Award in 2004, the Pfizer/ADHA Excellence in Dental Hygiene Award in 2005, and holds Honorary Membership in Sigma Phi Alpha Honor Society in 2006.
Dr. Walter Clifford, Clifford Laboratory

Dr. Walter Clifford is the Founder, President and Research Director of Clifford Consulting & Research in Colorado Springs, Colorado, providing consultation, testing and research services related to health care and biomedical applications. Dr. Clifford is originator of the Clifford Materials Reactivity Testing protocol and testing program, which reports an individual’s biocompatibility with over 6500 trade-named dental products and 89 chemical groups and families. Dr. Clifford holds a Masters of Science in Microbiology/Immunology, and is affiliated with numerous scientific associations and societies, including the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), the American Society for Clinical Pathology (M-ASCP) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Clifford teaches and lectures internationally, and is the 2003 recipient of the Gray Strong Award for Outstanding Service from the IAOMT.
Brent West, Frontier Laboratory

Mr. West is the Vice President and General Manager of Frontier Dental Laboratories, Inc. Mr. West has spent years working with top clinicians across the country including with Dr. Hornbrook at PAC~live , Dr. Larry Rosenthal with Aesthetic Advantage and Dr. John Kois with the Kois Center. Mr. West has lectured internationally and has written numerous articles on laboratory communication and restorative materials. With more than 13 years’ experience and a vast knowledge of material applications, doctors have great confidence in Mr. West to guide them through a variety of procedures. This confidence enables them to achieve the best results from their fabricated restorations. Under his leadership, Frontier’s professional technical team fabricates some of the finest restorations in the industry.Brent West resides in Folsom, CA with his wife and son.
Ina Pockrass, J.D.

Ina Pockrass is an eco-entrepreneur and branding and marketing expert who practiced law for 18 years. Ms. Pockrass co-founded Transcendentist®, Inc. in 2002, and the Eco-Dentistry Association in 2008.
Ms. Pockrass legal specialty is intellectual property, the creation and protection of intangible assets, like trademarks. She was partner at the prestigious law firm Pillsbury Madison and Sutro (now Pillsbury), heading the firm’s West Coast Intellectual Property group of 70 attorneys. In 1998, she moved her practice to Heller Ehrman White and McAuliffe, continuing to handle high-tech litigation for well-known companies, and teaching trial advocacy to young lawyers. Ms. Pockrass frequently lectured on cutting edge branding and advertising issues.
A driving force behind Eco-Dentistry™, the comprehensive approach to sustainability for healing practitioners, Ms. Pockrass is chair of the Board of Directors of two non-profits, The Engage Network and Circle of Life. She also serves on the Steering Committee for Sustainable Berkeley, the Advisory Board of Teleosis, and is a former board member of the Sustainable Business Alliance. She is a frequent speaker on Green Business and Marketing to the LOHAS consumer.
Ms. Pockrass has a BA in Philosophy from Mills College in Oakland, California and received her law degree in 1985 from The Washington College of Law at the American University. Before, and during law school, she worked in the U.S. Congress as a legislative aid.
